IT Practical Exam -Font Problem

Step 1 -Copy the fonts folder  to the Home folder  from the Practical Exam CD 

Step 2-Rename the folder as .fonts

Step 3- Type the command  fb-cache in the root terminal

Step 4- Press the enter key

That is all !!!!!

IT Practical Examination Installation Guide
(Best view in linux)

 Step A- Home ലുള്ള images, Documents, exam, itexam debs എന്നീ ഫയലുകള്‍ delete ചെയ്യുക. Syanaptic Package Manager ല്‍ നിന്ന് പഴയ IT Exam Complete remove ചെയ്യുക. (Before installation of the itexam itschool software, remove the folders

Documents, images10,exam10 ,itexam debs from the home directory.)

For that follow the 4 steps given below

Step 1- From the Desktop menu choose
Desktop --> Administration --> Synaptic Package Manager.

Step 2-The Synaptic Package Manager will now prompt you for the 'root' password. Enter the root password in the field and click on the OK button

Step 3- Search for lower version of IT@school examination sofrware is there in the system or not.
For that click on Search and in the Find box type as “itexam” .Then click on Search
Right click on the package and Mark as “Mark for Complete Removal”

Step 4- Click on Apply button for complete removal of the old package.

Step B- 1 File based installation (or pen drive വഴി കോപ്പി ചെയ്തുള്ള ) Command

Follow the 2 steps below for file based installation

Step 1 - സി.ഡിയിലുള്ള itexam-debs എന്ന ഫോള്‍ഡര്‍ പെന്‍ഡ്രൈവ് വഴിയോ, മറ്റോ കോപ്പി ചെയ്ത് Home ഫോള്‍ഡറില്‍ പേസ്റ്റ് ചെയ്യുക.
( Copy the itexam-debs folder in the CDROM to your home folder.)
Step 2.  Open a root terminal (Applications --> System Tools-->Root Terminal ) and issue the command (type or copy and paste

sed -i 's/^deb\ /\#deb\ /' /etc/apt/sources.list && echo "deb file://${PWD}/itexam-debs ./" | sudo tee -a /etc/apt/sources.list && apt-get --quiet update && apt-get --yes --quiet --allow-unauthenticated install itexam-6.2-itschool-3.0-3.2

or

sed -i 's/^deb\ /\#deb\ /' /etc/apt/sources.list && echo "deb file://${PWD}/itexam-debs ./" | sudo tee -a /etc/apt/sources.list && apt-get --quiet update && apt-get --yes --quiet --allow-unauthenticated install itexam-6.2-itschool-lite

Choose the above command  according to your operating system 3.0, 3.2 or lite version. That is all  ????

Step B- 2- CD-ROM based installation

Follow the 5 steps given below for CD-ROM based installation

Step 1-Insert Cdrom containing Examination software

Choose Add CD-ROM option from the edit menu. Click and then insert CD-ROM into the drive and click OK.

Step 2-Select Search from the Edit menu and enter “itexam” in the search window.The Synaptic Manager will now display the list of matching entries.

Step 3- Select the itexam version that you want to install from the list shown. If you plan to use IT@School-lite choose itexam-6.2-itschool-lite. If you plan to use version 6.2 for it@school 3.2 or it@school3.0 then select itexam-6.2-itschool-3.0-3.2

Step 4- Right click on the selected item and choose Mark for Installation.
The Synaptic Package Manager may ask whether you want to mark additional
packages for installation. . Click on the Mark button in this window.

Step 5-Once the Apply button has been clicked the Downloading package files will appear.This step will take some time. Kindly wait for 5-10 minutes for this step to be completed. After the download is complete, Synaptic will install the packages . This step will also take some time.

Post installation
From now onwards all the ITExam software related tasks should be done as non- root user.
1- School registration   

select
> Application -->Accessories --> IT Practical Exam.

This is where the school registration takes place.

2- Give the computer number etc.
